Singapore’s PREPARE (Programme for Research in Epidemic Preparedness and Response) will organise a regional workshop entitled Policy-driven Infectious Diseases Modelling from 11 to 15 May 2026 in Singapore. The event forms part of the Research Engagements and Action against Diseases caused by Infections (READI) programme, which aims to strengthen ASEAN partnerships through collaboration in training, research, and capacity development in epidemic preparedness.

The workshop is organised through collaboration between PREPARE, the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore, the Centre for Epidemic Research Modelling (CERM), and the Jameel Institute at Imperial College London, with support from the Temasek Foundation. As part of the workshop, Dr. Iqbal Elyazar, Head of the Geospatial Epidemiology Programme at OUCRU Indonesia, received an official invitation to participate in the forum. The participation of representatives from ASEAN countries is expected to strengthen regional institutional networks, foster sustainable epidemiological research collaboration, and support preparedness for future infectious disease threats.

The workshop will take place at the Aloft Singapore Novena Hotel and will feature a range of sessions related to the development of epidemiological research methods, platforms, and collaborative initiatives. In addition to strengthening regional networks, the forum is also expected to generate a portfolio of priority research projects and domains relevant to Singapore and partner countries across the ASEAN region.
